Apple Rolls
Apple Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour, 3 tbsp. shortening, 1 stick butter, 2 c. water and 1 1/4 c. white granulated sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
For pastry, combine flour and shortening; add enough milk to moisten flour until it will be stiff.
Chill. In a 9 x 13-inch pan add butter, 2 cups water, white sugar and vanilla.
Let this mixture get real hot and stir.
Roll pastry into a large circle.
Sprinkle with chopped apples and brown sugar. Roll this up into a roll.
Cut in 1 1/2-inch slices and put in hot mixture.
Cook slow until golden brown, about 1 hour.
Serve with ice cream or whipped topping.
