Jambalaya
Jambalaya is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Made with c. ham, cut in cubes, . butter or margarine, c. chopped onion, c. chopped green pepper and garlic, minced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Saute ham lightly in margarine or butter about 5 minutes.
Add the onion, green pepper and garlic.
Cook 5 minutes; stir occasionally.
Stir in tomatoes, water, salt, thyme and hot sauce. Bring to a boil and stir in the rice.
Cover, lower heat and simmer about 30 minutes or until rice is done.
Makes 6 servings.
