Mom's Soft Raisin Cookies
Mom'S Soft Raisin Cookies is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 30 minutes. Made with c. water, c. raisins, c. shortening, c. sugar and eggs, lightly beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool (do not drain). In mixing bowl, cream shortening.
Gradually add sugar and eggs and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients.
Gradually add to cream mixture and blend thoroughly.
Stir in nuts and raisins.
Drop by teaspoonful 2-inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 14 minutes.
