Bran Muffins
Bran Muffins is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. "kretschmer" toasted wheat bran, 2 c. all-bran cereal, 2 c. boiling water, 4 c. buttermilk and 1 c. melted shortening or oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

In a very bowl combine and cereal.
Add boiling water; stir to moisten and let stand 10 minutes.
Add buttermilk.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Add to mixture; stir until well blended.
Mix together flour, soda and salt.
Add raisins to flour mixture. Stir into bran mixture.
Cover tightly with foil.
Refrigerate 24 hours.
Muffin tins lined with baking cups, 3/4 full. Bake at 350Β° for 20 to 25 minutes.
