Butter Cookies(Tea Cakes) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1 egg yolk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream shortening.
Add sugar and stir together thoroughly.
Add the unbeaten egg yolk and vanilla, mix well.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add to the cream mixture alternately with the milk.
Stir thoroughly.
Press through Cookie Maker.
Bake in quick oven until edges are brown (about 10 minutes).
Follow preparation instructions exactly or these will not turn out.
Quick oven is approximately 400Β°.
