Chewy Caramel Brownies
Chewy Caramel Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. brown sugar, lightly packed, 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 c. pecans, chopped, 1/2 c. shortening or 1 stick margarine and 2 eggs, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Grease 9 x 13 pan on bottom and sides with margarine or Crisco.
Measure all ingredients into a large bowl.
Stir until well mixed at medium speed of mixer.
Spread evenly in pan and bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Place baking pan in center of oven.
Batter will rise in a short time, then it will fall.
Test with toothpick for doneness (not too dry).
Remove from oven and partially cool.
While still warm cut 24 squares and put on wax paper.
