Christmas Cake(British Style) is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter or margarine, 1 tbsp. mixed spice, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 lb. flour and 1 lb. seeded raisins, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Preheat oven to 250° to 275°.
Cream the butter, sugar and spices.
Beat in egg yolks.
Fold in half of stiffly beaten egg whites, then half of sifted flour and salt, then remainder of egg whites and remainder of the flour.
Add prepared chopped fruit. Bake for 3 1/2 to 4 hours in papered 8-inch square pan.
