French Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 medium onions, thinly sliced, 1 tsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 1/4 c. corn oil and 6 c. beef bouillon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

In large saucepan, saute onions, pepper and sugar in corn oil until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Add bouillon and salt; simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
Pour into flame-proof soup tureen or individual casserole dishes.
Top with French bread and sprinkle generously with cheese.
Place under broiler until cheese is melted and bubbly.
