Hard Rock Christmas Candy
Hard Rock Christmas Candy is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 24 minutes. Made with c. light corn syrup, c. water, c. sugar, of salt and few drops food coloring (your choice), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix together syrup, water, sugar and salt.
Bring to a boil and boil to hard-crack stage (300Β° on a candy thermometer).
Add food coloring and flavoring.
Pour onto a cookie sheet that has been packed well with powdered sugar.
This takes 1/2 box of sugar (press down well and make sure to cover any holes so that hot syrup won't drip through).
Allow mixture to cool.
Pick up candy and turn it over.
Cool candy until it can be broken into small pieces. Makes 2 to 3 cups of broken candy or about 36 pieces.
