Holiday Poke Cake
Holiday Poke Cake is an easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. white cake mix, 2 c. boiling water, 1 pkg. jell-o gelatin (any red flavor), 1 pkg. jell-o lime flavor gelatin and 1 (16 oz.) can vanilla frosting, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Bake cake mix as directed on package for two 9-inch round cake layers.
Place cake layers, top side up, in 2 clean round cake pans.
Pierce cake with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals. Stir one cup boiling water into each flavor of gelatin in separate bowls for 2 minutes or until dissolved.
Pour one flavor of gelatin over one layer and the other flavor over the remaining layer.
Refrigerate 3 hours.
Dip cake pan in warm water for 10 seconds and unmold onto serving plate.
Spread with 1/4 of the frosting.
Place second layer on top and do the same.
Refrigerate one hour before serving.
