Italian Ice Cream
Italian Ice Cream is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream, softened, 1 jar green maraschino cherries, chopped and drained and 2 pkg. slivered almonds (2 3/4 oz. each), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Melt butter in shallow baking pan.
Add almonds, stirring to coat with butter.
Lightly sprinkle almonds with salt.
Bake at 400Β° for 3 to 5 minutes, or until golden.
Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl; stir well.
Spoon into 9-inch square pan.
Cover; freeze until firm.
Makes about 12 servings.
