Italian Meat Loaf
Italian Meat Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, 1 egg, beaten, 1/2 c. bread crumbs (dry), 1/2 c. minced onion and 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Preheat
Combine bread crumbs, onion, 1 can tomato sauce, oregano, salt and pepper.
Mix well and add meat.
Mix well and shape into a flat rectangle about 10
12 inches on waxed paper.
Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the meat.
Roll like a jelly roll. Press ends to seal.
On rack in a shallow baking dish.
Bake 1 hour. Drain off excess fat.
Pour on remaining can of tomato sauce. Bake an additional 15 minutes.
