Meatball Sub Casserole
Meatball Sub Casserole is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/3 cup chopped green onion, 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs, 3 tbsp. grated parmesan cheese, 1 lb. ground beef and 1 loaf (1 lb.) italian bread, cut into 1 inch slices, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Mix green onions, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese and beef. Shape into 1 inch balls.
Place on rack in a shallow baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
Arrange bread in a single layer in an ungreased 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan (all the bread may not be used).
Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, and pepper.
Spread over the bread.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella.
Combine sauce, water, and garlic; add meatballs.
Pour over cheese mixture.
Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
Bake uncovered at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
Serves 6 - 8.
