Mother's Ice Cream(6 Quarts)
Mother'S Ice Cream(6 Quarts) is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 gal. scalded milk, 6 eggs, well beaten, 2 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. vanilla and 2 tbsp. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Heat milk and add eggs.
Stir while eggs are cooking. Mix flour with a amount and then stir mixture into milk and stir while heating.
Add sugar and set off stove to cool.
If there is time enough, place in refrigerator overnight vanilla.
Pour into 1 gallon hand-turned freezer and layer crushed ice and ice cream salt around bucket until freezer is full.
Freeze until too hard to turn and cover with old newspaper and plastic bag.
