New Mexico Hamburger Chili Bake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. lean ground beef, 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 1 (4 oz.) chopped chilies, 1/2 lb. longhorn cheese, grated and 1 medium onion, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Crumble beef into heated skillet.
Add onion.
Cook over medium heat until meat loses red color.
Combine soup, milk and chilies. Mix until smooth.
Combine beef and soup mixture.
Cover bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan with half of the tortillas quartered. Spoon 1/2 of hamburger mixture over tortillas and arrange second layer as first and top with cheese.
Bake, uncovered, in preheated oven at 350Β° about 30 minutes or until bubbly.
