Plantation Pecan Pie
Plantation Pecan Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. butter (not margarine), 1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar, 1 c. light corn syrup, 1 tbsp. evaporated milk or whipping cream and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cream butter; add sugar gradually, then add syrup and evaporated milk.
In another bowl add salt to eggs and beat until light.
Stir well into first mixture; add vanilla and pecans.
Use 1 cup nuts for halves or 1 1/2 cups if broken into pieces.
Pour mixture into pie shell.
Bake in preheated 400° oven for 10 minutes.
Lower temperature to 350° and bake 35 to 40 minutes longer.
