Shrimp Gumbo
Shrimp Gumbo is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. vegetable cooking oil, 1 c. plain flour, 1 large onion, 4 stalks celery and 1 bell pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Use the flour and oil to make a roux.
Chop onion, celery, pepper and okra.
Put in pot with water to boil.
Add tomatoes; cook until done.
Put into blender until blended.
Add 1 gallon water to roux.
Add blended vegetables.
Stir well.
Bring to boil.
Add crab meat and crab boil.
Add peeled shrimp.
May use more shrimp if desired.
Cook until shrimp are done.
Add file. Serve with rice.
