Brown hamburger with onion in 10-inch skillet with lid.

Drain fat off.

Drain tomatoes into a 2 cup measuring cup, reserving juice.

Chop up tomatoes and place them in a separate dish.

Add water to juice to make 2 1/2 cups liquid.

Add liquid, rice and taco seasoning to hamburger; stir.

Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 25 minutes.
