Vegetarian Chili With Rice is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained, 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can great northern beans, drained, 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained), cut up, 3/4 c. green pepper, chopped and 1/2 c. onion, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Combine kidney beans, Northern beans, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, pepper, onion, chili powder, sugar, basil, garlic and water in a large saucepan.
Bring to boiling and reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Top each serving with 1/2 cup rice.
