Melt in a saucepan the butter and brown sugar until dissolved. Cool ingredients slightly.
Beat in well the eggs and vanilla. Sift, then measure 1 cup flour; resift it with baking powder and salt.

Bake at 350Β° for about 30 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
