Congealed Slaw Salad
Congealed Slaw Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (3 oz.) lemon jello, 1 c. hot water, 1/2 c. mayonnaise, 1/2 c. cold water and 2 tbsp. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Dissolve jello in hot water.
Mix mayonnaise and cold water, vinegar and salt; add jello.
Chill until partially set.
Whip until fluffy; add cabbage, celery and onion.
Chill until firm. Serve on lettuce.
May add 2 tablespoons hot horseradish for variety.
Green pepper and diced cucumber may be added also. Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
