English Coffee Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, separated, 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg yolk and vanilla; beat well.
Mix in flour.
Spread cookie dough evenly over greased cookie sheet (approximately 12 x 14-inch). Brush beaten egg whites over top of dough and sprinkle over chopped nuts.
Bake at 300Β° for 40 to 45 minutes.
Let cool 5 minutes.
Cut when warm.
