Fried Green Tomatoes
Fried Green Tomatoes is an easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. self-rising flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1 c. buttermilk or enough to cover tomato slices, 3 or 4 green tomatoes, sliced and 2 tbsp. oil for frying, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Slice tomatoes into bowl and cover with buttermilk.
Let stand about 5 minutes.
Mix flour and salt.
Take each tomato slice from milk and dredge in flour mixture.
Place slices on wax paper and let stand until flour is moist.
Pour enough oil in pan to cover bottom.
Heat oil until ready for frying and place slices in pan.
Cook until tomatoes are browned on each side.
Drain and serve warm.
