Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, dry mustard, baking powder, salt, oil, milk and egg.
This will make one cup of batter.
Dry frankfurters on paper towel and insert wooden skewer in end of frankfurter.
Dip in batter, coating completely.
Pour batter into tall glass for easy coating.
Fry in deep hot fat at 375Β° until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
Drain on paper towel.
Serves 4 or 5.
