Indian Bread
Indian Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 4 tbsp. sugar, 3/4 c. corn meal, 1/2 c. wheat flour and 4 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Dissolve yeast in water.
Mix flour, sugar and corn meal together.
Add yeast and enough water to make a sticky dough.
Drop by teaspoons into hot lard (deep fat fry).
Fry until crispy brown on both sides.
Remove to a paper towel covered pan.
Serve with butter and maple syrup or peanut butter or jelly.
Also good with ham and eggs or tomato gravy.
