Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
Cut in margarine and add sugar.
Mix to a light dough with beaten egg and milk.
Turn onto a floured board.
Roll out 1/4-inch thick.
Cut into small rounds. Put 1/2 tablespoon of jam on half the circles, brush other half with milk and pinch together.
Fry in oil for 6 to 8 minutes (deep-fry).
Toss in sugar and cinnamon mixture.
