Italian Cream Cake
Italian Cream Cake is an impressive Italian dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 18 minutes. Made with oleo (1/2 c.), c. shortening (crisco), c. sugar, c. buttermilk and eggs, separated, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream oleo and shortening with sugar.
Add egg yolks.
Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla, coconut and pecans.
Last, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
