Layer Cake
Layer Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. shortening (crisco) and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

π¨βπ³ Instructions
Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy.
Add beaten egg yolks and beat thoroughly. Add sifted dry ingredients with milk and vanilla.
Beat well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into cake pans that have been greased and floured.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes or until done.
Cool and frost with your favorite frosting.
