Pesto(For Use On Pasta, In Salads Or In Soups) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. chopped fresh basil*, 2 tsp. finely mixed garlic, 1 tbsp. butter, softened, 1/4 tsp. salt and 2 tbsp. chopped raw spinach leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Mash the basil, spinach and garlic into a smooth paste.
Stir in, slowly, the cheese and softened butter.
Add the olive oil, little by little.
(We usually don't use a full 1/2 cup.)
Season with salt and black pepper.
This can be done in a blender, but mix all ingredients together before blending.
