Prize Coffee Cake
Prize Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 1/4 c. shortening, 1 egg, 1/2 c. milk and 1 1/2 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add egg and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Pour into greased 9-inch square pan. Top with mixture of 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 2 tablespoons butter.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
