Vinegar Roll (Aunt Jo'S)(Serves 8) is an easy dinner. Made with pie crust dough for 2 crust pie, 2 1/2 c. water, 3 c. sugar, 1/2 c. cider vinegar and 2 sticks margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix vinegar, water and 2 cups sugar; bring to boil.
Roll pie dough thin and oblong.
Spread generously with soft margarine; sprinkle with 1 cup remaining sugar.
Roll up as for jelly roll, beginning on long side.
Cut crosswise slices 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.
Place cut side down in baking pan 13 x 9 x 2-inch.
Slice remaining margarine over rolls.
Pour hot sugar and vinegar mixture over rolls.
Bake at 400Β° until golden brown.
Liquid will be creamy and thick.
This is an old ranch country recipe; used when fresh fruit was unavailable.
