Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce and 2 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream together sugar and shortening.
Beat egg and add to creamed mixture.
Combine dry ingredients.
Next dissolve 2 teaspoons baking soda in 1/4 cup boiling water.
(This will foam up.)
Add applesauce and dry ingredients to creamed mixture, then add boiling water and baking soda to mixture and stir in well. Pour batter into greased Bundt pan and bake at 350Β° for about an hour.
