Bayou Jambalaya
Bayou Jambalaya is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 medium onion, sliced, 1/2 c. chopped green pepper, 1 c. uncooked rice, 2 tbsp. shortening and 2 1/2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

In large skillet, saute onion, green pepper and rice in shortening until onion is transparent.
Add remaining ingredients. Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally with fork, until rice is tender, about 40 minutes.
