Broccoli-Cheese Soup
Broccoli-Cheese Soup is an moderately easy soup you can prepare in about 1 hour 6 minutes. Made with c. chopped onion, c. margarine or butter, c. flour, c. water and (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and well drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, cook onion in margarine until tender; stir in flour.
Gradually stir in water, then broccoli, bouillon and Worcestershire sauce.
Over medium heat, cook and stir until thickened and broccoli is tender, about 10 minutes.
Add cheese and cream.
Cook and stir until cheese melts and soup is hot (do not boil).
Makes 2 quarts.
