Chicken and Dumplings
Chicken And Dumplings is an easy dinner. Made with 1 chicken (except liver), 3 cans biscuits (10 count), 1 large white onion, chopped and salt and pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cut chicken to the best of your knowledge.
Cook chicken in large pot of water.
Remove scum from top as chicken cooks.
Add water as needed.
Remove chicken.
Add onions to boiling broth. Flatten biscuits by hand (flour hands to keep biscuits from sticking to hands).
Add to broth.
Stir so biscuits won't stick together.
Cook until biscuits are done.
Add water as needed. Don't let biscuits stick to the bottom of pot.
They sink when done.
Lower heat.
By now chicken has cooled enough to skin and bone.
Do it.
Stir into dumplings; salt and pepper to taste. Serves 5 to 6.
