Chicken "N" Dumplings
Chicken "N" Dumplings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (3 to 3 1/2 lb.) fryer, 2 qt. water, 1 tsp. salt, 2 c. all-purpose flour and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In Dutch oven, bring chicken, water and salt to a boil.
Turn down and simmer 1 hour or until tender.
Remove from broth and cool.
Bone chicken and cut into bite-sized pieces; set aside.
Bring broth to a boil.
Combine flour and salt together.
Add milk, stirring with a fork, until it forms a firm dough.
Pat out on a floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness.
Pinch off and drop into boiling broth, gently stirring after each addition.
Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
Stir in chicken and serve immediately.
