Czech Houska Bread
Czech Houska Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. milk, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. butter, 4 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. mace, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Combine milk, water, sugar, salt and butter in a saucepan and heat until the butter just melts (very warm, but not hot). Combine warm liquid with 1 cup of flour and yeast.
Beat at high speed for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add lemon rind, mace, eggs, raisins and 1 1/2 cups nuts.
Then continue to add remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Knead until satiny smooth.
Let rise until doubles in bulk, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
