French Oven Stew
French Oven Stew is an moderately easy French soup you can prepare in about 1 hour 24 minutes. Made with . stew meat, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes, medium onions, cut into eighths, celery, cut in large pieces, carrots, quartered and c. tomato juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Combine beef, onion, celery and carrots in a 2 1/2-quart casserole.
(I use my crock-pot.)
Combine tomato juice, tapioca, sugar, salt and pepper.
Pour over meat and vegetables.
Cover and bake in preheated oven (300Β°) about 2 1/2 hours.
Add potatoes and cook 1 hour longer.
Stir occasionally.
(I put in crock-pot about noon and it's ready around 5 or 6 p.m.)
