Grandma Stanton's Homemade Ice Cream
Grandma Stanton'S Homemade Ice Cream is an easy dinner. Made with 4 c. sugar, 8 small eggs, 2 tbsp. flour, 2 1/2 qt. milk (some must be half and half) and 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Put sugar, flour and cornstarch in bowl and mix well.
Beat egg yolks separately in bowl.
Beat egg whites separately until quite stiff.
Put milk in kettle and place in a dish of hot water. When hot, stir in the egg yolks which have been mixed well with the sugar.
Stir into hot mixture.
Add slow; might have to add a little more milk.
Stir constantly until nearly boiling.
When cooled, add vanilla and beaten egg whites.
