Molasses Christmas Cookies
Molasses Christmas Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. unsulphured molasses, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 tsp. baking soda, 2 2/3 c. sifted flour and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Heat molasses to boiling in saucepan deep enough for mixing dough.
Remove from heat.
Stir in shortening and baking soda. Sift in flour, baking powder and spices.
Mix well.
Chill.
Roll out dough 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured board.
Cut into desired shapes.
Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.
Decorate with ornamental frosting.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
