Mom's Sauerkraut Casserole
Mom'S Sauerkraut Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (8 oz.) can tomato juice, 32 oz. drained sauerkraut, 2 lb. ground meat (chicken, beef or pork), 2 finely chopped onions and 1/2 smoked ham, thinly chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Spread evenly half of well drained sauerkraut in a casserole pan.
In a separate bowl, mix ground meat, onions, rice, smoked ham and seasoning.
Spread mixture on top of sauerkraut in the casserole pan, then on top spread the remaining sauerkraut.
Pour the tomato juice on top of sauerkraut evenly, then sprinkle dill and thyme.
Cook in oven at 350Β° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Serve with sour cream.
