New Orleans Style Jambalaya
New Orleans Style Jambalaya is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 lb. raw shrimp, 1 1/2 c. diced ham, 1/2 c. chopped onions, 1/4 c. chopped celery and 2 c. tomatoes or 1 can tomato paste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Saute onions, green pepper, celery and garlic in melted butter.
Add shrimp and ham; fry for 5 minutes on medium heat. Stir in tomatoes and cook an additional 10 minutes.
Stir in rice and add seasoning.
Add 1 cup water and bring to boil.
Cover and simmer until rice is done, about 30 minutes.
