Sweet 'n' Sour Cabbage Casserole

Cook the cabbage in 1 cup water and 1 teaspoon salt for 7 minutes.

Stir in the beer and vinegar.
Add pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt and the onion; cook lightly until onion is limp.
Return the chopped bacon to the mixture.
Pour this sweet-sour mixture over the cabbage and cook about 10 minutes in a 350Β° oven.
