Swiss Steak
Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. round steak, 2 tsp. salad oil or shortening, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt and 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Pound meat into serving pieces.
Dredge in flour, seasoned salt and pepper mixture.
Brown on both sides.
Pour tomatoes over meat.
Combine onions, tomato sauce, green pepper and garlic. Pour over steak.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Add carrots and cook 1 hour.
Serve with hot rice if desired.
