Yankee Baked Beans
Yankee Baked Beans is an easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. navy or pea beans, 1/2 lb. salt pork and 1 medium size onion, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Place beans in a 4-quart cooking pot; cover with cold water and let soak overnight.
In the morning pour out the water, then cover beans with fresh water.
Add the salt pork and the onion which has been cut into fine pieces.
Bring to a boil and simmer at least 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender.
Place beans and onion into a baking pan with enough juice to nearly cover the beans.
Season to taste.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
Serve with catsup or chili sauce.
