Chinese Barbecued Spareribs
Chinese Barbecued Spareribs is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 strips fresh pork spareribs, cracked for easy eating, 1 medium chopped onion, 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce, 1 tbsp. cider vinegar and 1 tbsp. soy sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Layer spareribs in shallow pan; dust with salt and pepper. Bake 30 minutes in hot (450°) oven.
Meantime, in saucepan, stir together onion, tomato sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, salt, pepper, mustard, Tabasco sauce, bay leaf, garlic and water.
Bring to boil. Pour over ribs.
Reduce heat to 350° and bake 1 hour. Baste twice with pan drippings.
Garnish.
Cut scallions and/or small pickles.
