Danish Goulash
Danish Goulash is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. round steak (1/4 inch thick), 3 tbsp. oil, pepper, 3/4 c. thinly sliced onions and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cut meat into 1/4-inch cubes.
Brown well in hot oil with pepper.
Add onions and stir until light brown.
Add salt, 2 1/2 cups water, sugar and bay leaves.
Simmer, covered, for 1 1/4 hours or until fork-tender.
Remove bay leaves.
Stir in flour that has been mixed with 5 tablespoons water.
Stir until mixture is smooth.
Cook until mixture thickens.
Serve over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.
