Dutch Slaw
Dutch Slaw is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. shredded red cabbage, 1 tbsp. vinegar, ice, water and 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Place shredded cabbage in large bowl.
Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon vinegar.
Cover with ice and water; let stand 1 hour. Soften the cream cheese; add cream and 2 tablespoons vinegar, a little at a time, beating until smooth.
Season with sugar, dry mustard and salt.
Drain cabbage and dry well in paper towels. Combine with diced apples; pour dressing over salad and toss. Garnish with apple slices and pepper strips.
