Freezer Slaw
Freezer Slaw is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (5 lb.) head cabbage, 1 tbsp. kosher salt, 1 green pepper, 1 large carrot, chopped fine and 1 small onion, chopped fine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Shred cabbage fine.
Add salt and mix in large bowl.
Set aside for 1 hour.
While waiting, prepare remaining vegetables. Make a syrup of sugar, vinegar, celery seed and mustard seed and boil for 1 minute until sugar is dissolved and cool to lukewarm. Drain cabbage and squeeze to remove water.
Pour syrup over all vegetables and mix thoroughly.
Pack in desired containers.
Zip each freezer bag, etc.
