Jake Louthan's Hot Rolls
Jake Louthan'S Hot Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 c. crisco, 4 c. milk, 1 pkg. dry yeast and 1/2 c. lukewarm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

In a large pan, bring sugar, Crisco and milk to a boil and then cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Add to milk mixture, then add 4 cups flour.
Let set 2 hours or until double in size. Add another 4 cups flour which has been sifted with baking powder, salt and soda.
Next, add only enough to knead and put in a greased bowl in the refrigerator.
Punch dough down when it rises.
Keeps about 1 week. Bake rolls at 425Β° about 12 minutes.
